Aims of the Trust

Currently, most funds raised for cancer sufferers do not stay locally in the Coffs Harbour region. There has also been a problem with what current assistance schemes will cover in terms of expenses; most household bills and even the accommodation while undergoing treatment are not covered by these schemes.

We provide direct financial assistance to North Coast Cancer Institute (NCCI) patients and their families. These are local people within our community!

Eligibility

  • North Coast Cancer Institute patients only
  • Patients/Families to be assessed by North Coast Cancer Institute staff, primarily Social Workers.
  • Patients to provide evidence of income.
  • Assessors may consider varying income criteria where special circumstances apply

Our Trust aims to assist at least 2-3 patients/families per week in the following ways:

  • To provide assistance to a maximum $500 per Patient/Family.
  • Payments will usually be in the form of direct payment to creditors.
    Eg. household bills, phone, gas, electricity, insurance etc.
  • Provision of supermarket vouchers for food or petrol may be provided.
  • May also provide ‘quality of life’ items where deemed necessary.
