The Rainforest Rattler itself was built in 1961 at the railway workshops in Chullora and was in service until 2007 (a remarkable 46 years).

Operated by the 100% volunteer Rail Motor Society funds raised are returned to restoring and maintaining heritage trains for the future enjoyment of future generations.

The volunteers at The Rail Motor Society (TRMS) acknowledge the tremendous support given to them by the community of the Coffs Coast and when they wished to give something back, CanDo Cancer Trust, that is also 100 percent volunteer operated, was an obvious choice.

Coffs Coast Freemasons. Freemasonry is the largest and oldest fraternal organisation in the world and is CanDo’s most generous sponsor, having a hand in almost everything we do and supporting us with not only financial assistance but assistance at events and the running of their own events in honour of CanDo.

Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught its precepts by a series of ritual dramas, which follow ancient forms and use stonemasons’ customs and tools as allegorical guides.

Coffs Harbour Pink Silks Perpetual Trust aims to ensure the community’s donations benefit as many women as possible, over as many years as possible, as they have a responsibility to those who have kindly donated to the cause. It’s seven women that form the committee in a voluntary role, and they work together with the Coffs Harbour Racing Club, to provide a unique charity day. Every second year they contribute $10,000 to a national breast cancer research institute – an important and essential need in developing better treatments and hopefully one day a cure.

Tour de Rocks. While their primary focus is cancer, there are many parallel activities that strengthen the Tour de Rocks reputation as a worthy cause. They provide the opportunity for people to do something they thought unachievable, and more significantly, an activity that brings families together through common objectives, building memories that would last a lifetime and will be drawn upon when times get tough. There are very often tears at the finish line when people realise what they’ve achieved, not only through completing the ride, but also successfully fundraising and contributing to their communities.
